Worksheet description
Paragraph (100 words) about a person's job. Includes present simple for habits and things that are generally true, and present continuous for temporary actions / situations. Contains seven errors in the use of present tenses.
Instructions
Introduce the work of a civil engineer or similar job related to the text. Elicit key ideas and vocabulary. Then get students to correct the text individually and check their answers in pairs.
Optionally, they can write a paragraph about their own jobs.
Alternatively, they can interview each other about jobs, responsibilities and current projects, and then write a paragraph about their partner's job.
