Compound nouns - game cards

Instructions

Cut up the cards and either fold over the bottom half of each to hide the collocates or place in a pile face down.

Students work individually or in teams and take it in turns to choose a head word, choose a card at random or the next card from the top of the pile. The other team / players should take the card and the student or team whose turn it is should be given a time limit (30 secs - 1 minute) to name as many collocates as possible. They get one point for each collocate that appears in the list on the card. Hints such as first letters etc can be given.
(A simple game that is extremely engaging.)
